Dense, clumping, blue-gray, warm-season grass with blades 1/4" wide. Purple flowers rise above the foliage in early-mid summer. Blooms give way to ornamental seed heads that persist through the early winter. Foliage turns golden brown with hues of orange and red in the fall. Tolerant of drought, erosion, dry or rocky soil, air pollution, and black walnut trees.
